Weight fluctuations, pregnancies, and gravity are some reasons why your slim waist and six-pack disappear over time. Both the muscle wall and skin become looser tissues.

Abdominoplasty is the solution to these kinds of changes. There are several types, and the choice of the right one depends on each patient’s needs. Below you can find a brief description of the most common types and patient that is indicated for each one:

  • Mini Tummy Tuck: for thin patients, who only have loose skin. The incision is slightly longer than a C-section. A small portion of the skin is dried, and the muscles under the belly button are tightened. The belly button is not modified. It can be performed with extensive liposuction in order to achieve a better result.
  • Modified Tummy Tuck: for patients with looser and saggier skin than the previous ones, but not as much as for a Full Tummy Tuck. The incisions are slightly shorter than a conventional abdominoplasty. The modification of the belly button will depend on whether it is a high or a low one. It can be done with liposuction, but it will not be as extensive.
  • Full Tummy Tuck: For patients with a lot of both sagging skin and fatty tissue. The incision goes from hip to hip, the muscles are tightened from above the belly button to the pubis, and the belly button is modified. Liposuction may only be performed on the flanks and back.

At the end of the day, the goal of the abdominoplasty is to preserve the anatomy of lights and shadows from the abdomen, achieving a natural result according to your physical characteristics.

Recovery time: 2 to 3 weeks. Wearing a compression device is mandatory for six weeks.

Type of Anesthesia: General, always under the supervision of a certified anesthesiologist, after cardiovascular evaluation.
